PS,
The "disconnect" is the chasm that exists between reality and myth. Kind of cool to be on this side, huh?

i saw a car pull up in the driveway.
i was at my computer trying to order some tickets from ticketmaster, having a hard time with some details.. then i saw one sister, two then three get out of the car......up to my door.. i had a towel on my head (just got done coloring my hair) new clothes pulled out in the living room for my grand daughter, she was laid out of the sofa watching hannah montana.........i looked like hell.
they, of course, all dressed up.. it was around two, and i figure they had been out in service and was finishing up their time.

again it ran in the sunday edition - i hope that a few people might be 'forewarned' and thus 'forearmed' against the jw religion.
perhaps a jw or two will read it also- here was the letter:.
to the editor; on october 25 the british press was awash with the story of young emma gough from tellford, uk.
Jeff,,
Just read your letter to my wife. We enjoyed your balanced presentation. Well written.....
Keep up the hard work!
Yours in this Struggle,

ok, can anyone tell me why this works?
this is so freakin' cool.
do the test as it is instructed...don't cheat.
OK, I am freaked: I thought "red hammer." Why? I do not like the color red: grey is my favorite, green second. I am a mechanic and hammers are not toward the top of my tool list: different typs of pliers, nut drivers, etc.
Red hammer....
Scary....

now that i can see right through the crap that is the jw religion, i sometimes ask myself - how come you blindly believed all that rubbish for 30 years??!!
i am so annoyed with myself for that - i have a degree, yet i was totally duped for such a large part of my life.
and now that i can see how so full of holes it all is, i kick myself for not seeing it before.
James,
Here was my conclusion:
I was in from age five to forty seven.
When I engaged people in religious discussion, I was pretty good...in fact, better than most JWs....at defending the WT position. Most people are unable to defend thier Christian faith.
So, I was "hearing" a error filled series of statements put forth with confidence and vigor against a defense of apathy or ignorance.
I was mixing up the quality of the presentation with the factualness of it: so I duped myself to a large degree. A well presented arguement is not, for reason of the quality, "truthful."
Anyhow, the above is poorly writen: I am exhausted and going to bed...
Hang tough: duped as we were, it is all a part of Journey: and , you are doing better, now, along with the rest of it. NOW it will get better and better....
With all in understanding your frustration with Self,
V
are you pretty much the same here as you are in real life??
?.
No....same here as "real life."
In fact, this place is as "real" as it gets...

.
would you rather take a shower, or a bath?
i prefere showers with water hot as i can stand and i don't mean in scrub up, rinse, out....linger uneder the water is so relaxing...what about you..?.
There are two kinds of people:
Those that hand you the pack of gum or cigs and those that hand you only one cig or stick.
In the kitchen: sponge or rag people. I will eat out of a rag kitchen over a sponge kitchen, anytime.
And,
Bath or shower.
I am a bath person with a rinse of clean water from a pitcher. Baths soak off the muck-muck and are a lot more relaxing. Soak, scrub, rinse...aaagghhhh....

i have been away from the board for about a week: my mom went in the hospital for chest pains, had a "stint" put in one of the blood vessels in her heart, almost died, recovered to the point she could be sent home, and is home now.
my mom is 80, a bit "alternative" as far as medicine goes, stubborn as a mule, and one of the most caring people you would ever want to meet.
so, caring for her is a bit of a challange at times.
To All,
I have been away from the board for about a week: my mom went in the hospital for chest pains, had a "stint" put in one of the blood vessels in her heart, almost died, recovered to the point she could be sent home, and is home now. My mom is 80, a bit "alternative" as far as medicine goes, stubborn as a mule, and one of the most caring people you would ever want to meet. So, caring for her is a bit of a challange at times. My brothers and their families have been just great in caring for our mom. I have Friday's duty: eight am to eight pm. Mrs Williams has Sunday.
There have been several good threads: "CoCo"s post on the blood situation was good (caps drove me nuts) and Oompa's posts just crack me up....
Wanted you all to know I think about everyone on the board a great deal and wish you all peace and patience...
Take care,
V
ok so its only october so maybe this is a bit early.
but for me this is my 2nd year out of the org and i am looking forward to celebrating it again this year just like last year.. isn't it geat that we can join in with this celebration with the rest of the participating world!.
and no guilt feelings of being involved in a pagan celebration, over-indulging a bit, getting drunk a bit and enjoying yourself.. will this year's christmas be a first one for some people here since they have left the org?.
Our family's fourth: it is wonderful.
Merry Christmas!!

anonymity is a good thing.
i have never told anyone this and it bothered me really bad for a long time.
leading a double life at an early age as a jw probably is an indication that you are really not going to buy into the program.
O,
In your first post you said we "know the rest of the stroy..."
NO, we do not....
So, what happened to/with "Karen?"
